Miss North Carolina visits children at the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital

Children at the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital in Greenville had a special visitor Monday, October 7th.

Miss North Carolina Alexandra Badgett visited children at the hospital as part of her tour as Miss North Carolina.

Badgett played Bingo with patients in the Seascape Theater inside the hospital.

She said this was her first visit to a children’s hospital as the reigning Miss North Carolina and also her first visit to this specific children’s hospital in Greenville.

Miss North Carolina said she hopes her visit brought joy to the young patients and helped to distract them from their illnesses and from being in the hospital.

“I just want to enjoy ourselves and I was a dancer growing up and dance was an outlet for me to get away from everything going on. And for us to come today and play bingo and get our minds off everything going on and I love kids,” said Miss North Carolina.

Badgett said she wanted to be a real person with the children and allow the kids to have as much fun as possible.
